CPEL are particularly experienced in the unique requirements of the Marine Industry, regularly repairing or servicing trawler propeller shafts, rudder shafts, stern tubes and related equipment. Our advanced CNC Plasma Cutters will provide accurate hi-definition plasma cutting of stainless steel, duplex and mild steel, including variable bevel cutting and more. Our CNC system can optimise the quality of cut by using different gases in combination. We can use an argon / hydrogen mix as an example when cutting stainless steel or duplex which produces a clean high quality cut that usually does not require further treatment before welding. At CPEL, we can have excavator, loader and drill rig parts such as quick-hitches and digger buckets and linkages repaired and reinforced, new bosses and pins made and fitted. Augers repaired, shafts built up and machined for bearings, stub shafts repaired for hanger bearings. Specialised equipment like quarry and drill rig augers can be repaired and modified, tapered threaded adaptors made to retrieve lost drill bits. Drill extension guides made. CPEL specialise in manufacturing and repairing hydraulic cylinders and rams. We can have new chrome rods made and fitted as well as new cast iron neck bushes and pistons made and fitted, seals supplied, cylinders reassembled and tested. Non-standard manifolds, fittings and feed pipes can be made and fitted. Eyes built up or sleeved and machined for pins or swivel bearings and circlip grooves remachined. We can also provide a rechroming service for large diameter or hollow rods.
We specialise in engineering steel boat shafts taper machined to suit propeller and keyed to suit couplings, couplings bored and keyed to suit shafts. We can machine flywheels, clutch plates, brake hubs and discs. Bearings can be removed from wheel hubs and new bearings fitted. Rubber mounted bushes can be removed from “A” frames and new bushes fitted. We can have fan brackets repaired, bored and bushed for bearings, swivel housings sleeved and machined to suit nylon or bronze bushes.
